BUILD Students Place 3rd in National Competition; Featured on FOX25


LAS VEGAS – Aroma Squeeze, a BUILD student-led business run by four sophomores from the Community Academy of Science and Health, a high school in Dorchester, placed third in the 2017 SAGE USA National Competition, held May 26-28 in Las Vegas, NV. The teens were featured on FOX25 News.

Aroma Squeeze designs, manufactures and sells aromatherapy scented stress balls. The students — Kimberlee Freeman, CEO; Jeysaun Gant, CMO;, Saunyette Sneed, CFO; and Jada Little, COO — participate in the BUILD entrepreneurship program and get weekly coaching from their mentors, Amy Choi and Oleg Kritsky.

The team was scored on five criteria: Measurable & Proven Impact, Community Resources, Sustainable Business Practices, Succession Plan, and Use of Media. This was the third year in a row a BUILD Boston team placed in the top three at the competition. SAGE is a global organization whose mission is to create the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders who innovations address some of the world’s most urgent needs. BUILD uses entrepreneurship to ignite the potential of youth in under-resourced communities and equip them for high school, college and career success.
